Growing up was very difficult probably because my parents were not able to help me through my school work. At the same time, I felt bad for them because they did not have the opportunity to get an education, and they could not help me in my school work. Everywhere we went I had to be a translator for them; instead of them helping me, I was helping them.
Furthermore, everywhere I went to help my parents, I saw many other Hispanics that lacked education and their children suffered from it.
I always wanted to better myself at everything I did. Realizing that I was the key to my own success (and others), I mounted a burden that included helping others who did not have an opportunity to receive an education. I wanted to be the opportunity of education that anyone could take advantage of.
In order to accomplish this goal I, am going to enroll in college and receive my master’s degree in education. Also, I would like to start a night program where I can help any minorities to learn English and persuade them to enroll in college. During, this course of the year I would like to start a journal and investigate what motivates minority to do their best. I will also, gather stories of many people who had started from nothing and the end result of them was that they climbed the corporate ladder. Lastly, making them believe that they are the key to their dreams. No matter the methodology or ideology I choose to employ, the pinnacle of my quest will be having a positive influence on someone’s life, to be a catalyst of success.

Very eloquently worded! Your writing quality continues to improve. Just watch those fragments. Can you find one toward the end?
ReplyDeleteI like your idea about collecting stories about hard-working people who have made it. How will you present the information? Will it be in the form of a booklet? Will it have pictures? What is success?
You are a lot like Lincoln. He never had parents to help him with his homework, but look how he tool the educational ball and ran with it!
